    • Advances students' career development and career goal obtainment by providing effective career coaching and access to relevant information, resources, programs, and professional connections; meets with students (1:1, groups, etc.) to provide advising and coaching related to major/career decision-making, self-marketing (resumes, interviewing, networking, LinkedIn, etc.), job/internship search, graduate school preparation (second Master' or PhD), etc.
    • Administers graduate student internship courses; monitors student performance and progress; communicates with Career Hub leadership team and internship supervisors as needed.
    • Develops specific knowledge about the unique skills, abilities, and competencies required by industries, organizations, and functions of organizations hiring O'Neill graduate students; helps students market themselves for internships/job searches.
    • Designs, coordinates, and presents a suite of services, programs and resources for graduate students focused on specific career pathways for each degree; programs could include: career-related workshops and classroom presentations, career exploration outreach programs, workshops, meet-ups, conferences, seminars, presentations, boutique fairs, panels, site visits/road trips, job shadowing, networking events, etc.
    • Curates specific information of interest to graduate students including recruiting cycles, required competencies for career paths, emerging industry trends, industry specific resources, major employers, job and internships listings, etc. Contributes information to blogs, websites, marketing, etc.
    • Develops strong partnerships with faculty, alumni, student leaders/organizations, and employers to align resources and information for O -Neill graduate students.
    • Consults and collaborates effectively and regularly with leadership team to share student, industry, employer, and other relevant information and to create/implement services and programs that anticipate or respond to trends in the preparation, recruiting, and hiring of students.
    • Meets regularly with employers/alumni in person or via phone/Skype/Zoom to learn about industry trends, application and interview recommendations, and other valuable knowledge that can be shared with students/alumni.General Responsibilities
      • Assists with professional and career development of students and alumni through career assessments, exploration, decision-making, goal setting, and planning. Focuses efforts on resume building, interview skill development, mock interview, and job search preparation and navigation; graduate school application and interview preparation through counseling appointments and consultations.
      • Develops and delivers workshops on career development which include networking strategies, interviewing, resume and cover letter writing skills, portfolio development, and using the internet for career search.
      • Supports faculty and students with career exploration, internships, job shadow experiences, presentations, and facilitation of resources available for career development.
      • Serves on various community and institutional committees to build partnerships across the university and among comparable universities to build knowledge base.
      • Assists in the process of collecting and tracking data for office assessment purposes. Utilizes data to assist in the creation of office objectives and goals to meet the needs of the student population.
      • Works through issues with a variety of stakeholders: students, employers, alumni, and faculty. Identifies and capitalizes on connections between groups of stakeholders and leverage those connections in unique ways through events and interactions
      • May provide guidance and delegate administrative tasks to other career services staff.
      • May make process recommendations for improved operational efficiency.QualificationsCombinations of related education and experience may be considered. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
